UNESCO/ Jikji Memory of the World Prize Ceremony

The UNESCO/Jikji Memory of the World Prize commemorates Jikji, a UNESCO Memory of the World, and is awarded every two years by UNESCO to an individual or organization that has contributed to the preservation and research of documentary heritages. After four years of waiting, the 9th Jikji Awards ceremony will be held at last at the 2022 Jikji Festival. In addition, in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the UNESCO Memory of the World program, a meaningful exhibition will be held to raise awareness of the importance of documentary heritages and ponder the values ​​of human rights and peace via documentary heritages. At the Exhibition of the Memory of the World (a special exhibition for organizations that have won the UNESCO Jikji Memory of the World Award), you can meet the story of the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum in Cambodia, which uncovers the truth of painful history via records and protects human rights and peace.
